This is a really sharp looking truck. Marked down to $42,800 from $57,000. And I don’t really like Nissans at all. If it weren’t for the ugly steering wheel, I’d be in love.

The new Titan has always screamed “melty knock-off F-150" to me.

Nothing that one of these won’t fix.

Datsun has always made the best pickups

I’m shocked at myself for saying this ... but it’s kind of grown on me.

PERFECT!

But the new F150 is a knockoff of the Ram
![]() 01/22/2017 at 20:30 |

is that a unique platform or is it a riding on a Ram chassis or something?

I’ve always thought that the worst part of these is the weird, blob shaped Cummins badge on the side. Yes, it’s in the shape of a Cummins motor, but it looks slapped on and doesn’t coherently follow any of the body lines whatsoever. But what do I know, I’m a Ford truck guy after all and they use aluminum in their inferior truck beds.

Honestly that’s better than the old Nissan three spoke steering wheels

Somebody was drunkenly stumbling about the Titan factory with a bunch of Cummins badges he stole from the Bass Pro Shops parking lot.

It has a lot of promise to live up to just for sharing the chassis letter of a Cefiro.
j/k, but in all seriousness, it’s not a bad truck. Heck, between this and a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel...?

Oh yes, for sure.

Still a vast improvement over the old steering wheel.

Damn, you could also buy this for the price...
Sure you won’t pull anything, but who cares? :)

The year is 2070. Jkm7680 still hasn’t bought a truck. All hope is lost.

I hate all small diesels in big/medium trucks.
Like the Colorado “Duramax.” 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. More like “Duramin.”

Everything in this circle is a complete mess. The rest isn’t too bad.

Honestly, I’ve driven one with the Cummins and... How do I say this...
It feels like Nissan’s not even trying to make something lively anymore. Hell, anything from 350Z up to their trucks feel plain. I guess I share Mr. K’s statement in that they’re just bloated Datsuns. It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong, but I guess I kind of wanted it to feel like this:
PS. I WILL FIT IN A GODDAMNED CEFIRO WITHOUT MODIFYING THE SEATS.

Nissan hasn’t really been on their game recently as far as creating engaging designs.
Like I’ve driven a 2014? Pathfinder and it drove like hell.

Japanese Classics has a fairly nice one for sale. Needs a radio and the aftermarket wheel swapped though.

Yes. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the way it looks, but I don’t have a negative reaction to it anymore either. I actually hate the look of the front end of the current Ford trucks. I like them as trucks, but their front ends are fugly.

I think the 2018 facelift looks pretty good.

Yeah, the steering wheel is ugly, but none of the trucks are perfect. The only current full size trucks I find attractive are the GM twins, and even those I think their dashboards are ugly.
I never wrote about this I don’t think, but I actually went to a Titan test drive event back in September. Nissan had a dealer education event setup nearby for a few weeks, and they opened it to the public on the weekends. I got to take a diesel XD around a little off-road course, and then a regular Titan around a rough parking lot auto cross with some offset bumps and whatnot. They encouraged me to hammer it around that course, and I happily obliged. I went there with absolutely no interest in the Titan, and I left willing to consider buying one. The body structure is solid, that I can say for sure, and I was impressed by the brakes.

I hadn’t seen those. The one with the open grill looks pretty great actually, I’d rock that for sure. The ones with the gianormous crossbar in the grill look cartoony.

The Ecodiesel is under investigation and is an unreliable mess.

I totally agree man, that’s part of why I keep bouncing around. I’ve looked into literally every full-mid sized truck that’s out there and I’m having a lot of trouble deciding what to get.
The thing with trucks is that I don’t really have that much bias, I’m willing to give every brand a chance.

Wow, didn’t realize how much of a copy the rear end is to the F150. Similar tail light outline, but the tailgate with the top aero edge is a total knock-off.

I say the same thing about the Glorias and the Cedric they’ve had for sale.
